Title: In My Heart (One-Shot)
Pairing: KoTsu
Summary: Koichi has a nightmare that Tsuyoshi died. Sucky summary, I know
Disclaimer: Do I look like a very rich old man who owns an entire agency of young, shiny, sparkly and ghei pretty boys? The answer is no.
A/N: Inspired by an entry on Taichi’s J-web, where he mentioned that Koichi called him when he dreamt that Taichi died. I switched Taichi out with Tsuyoshi.
I have a tendency to name my fics after KinKi songs. Try listening to the song as you read? It might make my fics seem better than they really are ^^;
“Koichi-san….”
Koichi grunted and rolled over, choosing to ignore whoever was trying to wake him up at this godforsaken hour. Never mind that was eight in the morning, and he was at home. With the front door locked and bolted.
“Koichi-san…” the call became more persistent.
Koichi stuck his head under the pillow. Then he covered it with his comforter. Maybe the person would get the hint. It was his day off after all. He can very well ignore anyone he wants.
“Koichi-san~” the voice continued.
Koichi sighed in resignation, fighting to poke his head out of the covers.
“What do you wa…” the words died on his lips.
Standing at the foot of his bed was Tsuyoshi, holding a hand out to him. But Koichi’s attention was drawn to the splatter of red across Tsuyoshi’s chest. It stained Tsuyoshi’s white shirt, dripping steadily downwards.
“Ko-chan?” Tsuyoshi said, voice soft and melodious. He did not seem to realize that he was bleeding all over Koichi’s carpet.
Koichi’s head snapped up, taking in the peaceful expression adorning Tsuyoshi’s face. A small smile played on the younger man’s lips.
“Tsuyoshi… What… You…” Koichi tried to speak, a million questions going through his mind.
“Gomen ne, Ko-chan. We can’t make our 20th anniversary,” Tsuyoshi said, ignoring Koichi’s earlier stuttering.
Koichi felt his heart clench as Tsuyoshi continued, “I have to go first. Remember to eat your meals. And take out the staircase scene in ‘SHOCK’. Your body can’t take it much longer. Bananas aren’t a proper…”
Koichi shook his head furiously. “Stop it! Stop it! What are you talking about?! Where are you going? I don’t want to hear this!” Koichi clamped his palms over his ears.
Tsuyoshi smiled sadly, sitting on the edge of the bed. “Ko-chan, listen to me. I won’t be around to nag you anymore. Like a wife…” Tsuyoshi’s voice shook, a tear spilling out the corner of his eye.
“But you’re right here! And I don’t like this joke. It’s tasteless,” Koichi said, hands still firmly over his ears and his lips forming a firm pout.
“Koichi-san… Listen to me properly. Put your hands down.”
Koichi could never refuse Tsuyoshi whenever the younger man called him ‘Koichi-san’. No one calls him that in the slightly firm but gentle coaxing way Tsuyoshi always does.
“This isn’t a joke. I really have to go soon,” Tsuyoshi looked towards the door, giving a short nod. Koichi stared at the empty space, confused.
“Promise me you’ll eat proper meals and take care of yourself. Don’t be sad. You have so much ahead of you still,” Tsuyoshi continued, eyes turning slightly red.
Tsuyoshi smiled sadly, taking Koichi’s hand in his. “Please don’t forget me. I’ll be lonely if you ever forget me. It’s selfish, I know. But please remember me,” he pleaded, eyes shining as tears threatened to fall.
Koichi swallowed. He found it hard to say anything. “How could I ever forget you, Tsuyoshi? Now stop this. I really don’t like it.”
“That’s good. Now I have to go. Bye bye, Koichi-san,” Tsuyoshi gave Koichi’s hand a squeeze, smiling brighter than Koichi had ever seen him smile in years.
Koichi reached out his hand, only to grasp air. Panic set in. “Tsuyoshi? Tsuyoshi?! TSUYOSHI!”
Koichi eyes snapped opened as he bolted upright. Staring around his empty room, fear began to clench his heart. Stumbling blindly out of bed, he made a grab for his mobile phone.
Tsuyoshi… Tsuyoshi…Tsuyo………
Cursing when he realized he did not have Tsuyoshi’s number, he quickly threw on a Phi Con hoodie that was lying around and a pair of sweats.
I have to find Tsuyoshi…
He did not bother to lock the door as he ran out of the apartment. Ignoring the elevator, he took to the stairs, stumbling a few times on his way down.
Tsuyoshi, please be alright…
Reaching the basement, he headed immediately to his car. Revving it, he threw the car into gear and screeched out of the carpark. Suddenly, Koichi skidded to a halt at the exit of the apartment building.
I have no idea where he stays!
Spouting another few choice words, Koichi frantically scrolled down his contact list.
Manager-san… Manager-san…
After getting Tsuyoshi’s address from his confused manager, Koichi gunned the engine and broke every traffic law ever written on his way to Tsuyoshi’s apartment block.
Koichi took the stairs again, leaving his car at the entrance of the apartment building. He ignored the indignant cries of the guards, sprinting up 3 steps at a time.
244… 244… 244…
Koichi ran down the corridor, looking for the apartment number.
244!
Koichi hammered his fist on the door.
Answer the door dammit!
“TSUYOSHI!”
Please answer the door!
“TSUYOSHI!”
His fist connected with thin air as the door opened. At the door was a harried looking Tsuyoshi, eyes bleary and toothbrush sticking out from the corner of his mouth.
“What? What? What’s going on?” Tsuyoshi managed to stutter out, as Koichi grabbed him into a fierce hug.
“You’re alright. You’re really alright,” he heard Koichi whisper.
“Of course I’m alright. Are you alright?” Tsuyoshi patted Koichi on the back. He turned to look at Koichi but only saw messy hair.
Koichi released Tsuyoshi from the bruising hug, clearing his throat. “I’m fine. Don’t I look fine?”
Tsuyoshi was about to reply when he heard the guards of his apartment block hollering down the hall.
“Oi! Sir! You can’t leave you car there! It’s obstructing traffic. Please remove your car immediately,” a guard gestured furiously to Koichi.
Koichi stepped into the living room. “Can you do it for me, Tsuyoshi? I’m exhausted,” he asked, shooing Kenshiro off the couch and flopping down.
“Eeh?! It’s YOUR car! Why am I the one moving it?” Tsuyoshi said indignantly, eyes wide.
“Aaw, please? Tsuyoshi-san~” Koichi gave Tsuyoshi his best puppy eye look.
Tsuyoshi rolled his eyes, and a grinning Koichi threw his car keys to his partner.
“Don’t touch my fish,” were Tsuyoshi’s words as he left the apartment.
After moving Koichi’s car to the appropriate parking spot, Tsuyoshi returned to his apartment to find Koichi sprawled on the couch, fast asleep.
Kenshiro was curled up under Koichi’s arm. Tsuyoshi smiled fondly at the sight.
Ping pong!
Tsuyoshi opened the door to reveal Okada Junichi. Okada was about to greet him when Tsuyoshi put a finger to his lips.
“Shh… Koichi is asleep. You have to be quiet,” Tsuyoshi whispered.
Okada raised a curious eyebrow, but nodded anyway. KinKi Kids could hardly surprise him after so many years.

That's beautiful, Chuu~ :')
The dream was really... scary >.< It was so desperate T__T
But Tsuyo's fine, so Ko-chan can still act as a spoiled child xDD
I really like how you use real facts (Taichi's Jweb or Okada's quote), makes the fic even deeper ^^
I hope you'll come back soon to KinKi's fandom ;)
And too bad for your contest :( Don't worry, I'm sure next year you'll win (^.^)
Yeah... I thought Ko-chan would be scared out of his wits if he dreamt of Tsuyo instead of Taichi ^^;
Uh-huh... Tsuyo will always be there to pamper and spoil Ko-chan. KinKi Kids Forever! (^_____^)v
oh yeah, i'm sorry for askin but which part was the okada quote? i'm a bit blur.
It's apparently from a very old magazine interview that Okada did.
I'm not sure of the authenticity of the quote, because it would probably go into KinKi history (^___^)
awwwwww.. I don't mind you spamming us with KK love.. hope you'll be back soon.
And don't worry about the speech, there's always a next time.. :D
Well, Ko-chan and Tsuyo has always maintained that they no longer keep in touch by phone or email, so... hahaha... yeah... they should at least have the number in case of emergencies
Fiction is nothing compared to all the rabu-rabu we're getting from KinKi themselves these days (^_~)
Thank you, that's really ... I can't find a word. I just really enjoyed reading it!
You leave me grinning =D
I like the "don't touch my fish" and Tsuyoshi whispering Okada to silent^^
I guess.. I'm gonna miss your KinKi fic.
I'm sorry about the contest. I hope you can have better result, next time! (^o^)/
Don't worry... my aikata was complaining about my hiatus announcement... so there will be KinKi fics for another few weeks to come ^^;
*stares at aikata* Tsuyo-chan! Ko-chan needs a holiday! *whine*
Okay, can't wait ;)
*hands you KinKiYou towel*
